UV-REFLEX-SCB performs a progressive action of decontamination from airborne bacteria and mold present in the air of the cold rooms, improving the conditions of preservation of products.
With the use of UV-REFLEX-SCB, in particular, an improved maturation, aspect and quality of the meat is achieved. The treatment takes place by exploiting the constant forced air circulation, (due to the flow generated by the fan of the ventilation system), which pass next to the device and is decontaminated from microbes, before they enter into contact with the products inside the cold rooms.

The UV-FCU-CL air disinfection system can be applied for air disinfection in fancoils and air handling units. (U.T.A).
For installation on FANCOIL it is sufficient to fix the supplied clips in the space between the fan and the heating/cooling battery; the lamp is inserted between the above sections and locked with the clips. Installation is simple and it is also possible to use it on already installed and working fan coils (re-trofit technology on already existing systems). The supplied electronic power supply unit, which is small in size, is supplied with a plug/socket connection system that simplifies lamp replacement.
For the sanitization of the air and the radiant batteries in the air treatment units (A.T.U.) the UV-FCU-CL device directly radiates, with UV-C rays, air filters and cooling and/or humidification batteries inside the A.T.U., to avoid the formation and growth of microorganisms potentially harmful to people’s health. The use of the UV-FCU-CL represents an economical and reliable solution to stop the access of microbes to social rooms or to controlled contamination chambers, through a simple installation that is safe for the personnel, since everything is limited to an irradiation inside the AHU ducts, allowing a considerable saving in management costs and health protection from infectious diseases such as:
1) Sick Building Syndrome;
2) Legionnaires’ disease (Legionella Pneumophila - typhus of legionnaires); 
3). Tuberculosis (Mycobacterium Tub.)
4) Monday or humidifier fever.

The UV-PIPE-BV is a specific ultraviolet ray system to be placed within the sales desks in order to purify the cool air circulating channel, which is then input in the display compartment.
Protection from food contamination of the food exposed on the sale counters from germs is one of the major issues for food outlets. A large percentage of products are withdrawn from the display counters for premature loss of freshness, or worse, for decay. The cause of this can be ascribed to microbes, such as bacteria, fungi, mold and spores, which propagate through the air and circulating within the sales desks, cause cross contamination between foods.
Germs come mainly from the surrounding environment but also from the same food. Examples include Mucor, which makes food, such as meat and cold cuts, become black, Aspergillus and Saccharomyces typical of baking products, penicillium, which form the common green/black mold, and, finally, some bacteria, such as Pseudomonas, all highly resistant to cold, and, so particularly difficult to remove.
The proximity of different products on the same counter (i.e. meats, cold meats, salads, cheese, delicatessen products, seafood, pastries, etc.) will cause cross-contamination.
UV-PIPE-BV works with direct radiation. In 2 - 3 seconds, it is possible to achieve the abatement of 99% of bacteria (Bacillus, Coli, ClostrIdium, Legionella, Vibrio, Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, etc.)
The installation is very simple, just insert the UV-PIPE-BV within the ventilation channel of the sales counter and plug it into the mains using the power cable coming out from the handle.

We suggest to install one or more UV-STICK…AX-SCR in a layout that allow the device/s to irradiate coil’s surface entirely, to obtain an homogenous treatment of inner surfaces.
For this reason Light Progress offers a special and adjustable mounting kit to install devices properly.
Mounting kit is made in anodized aluminum, it can be used to install devices in serie, attacching them directly to AHU’s wall.
Devices are connected through SCR serial connectors, it is possible to switch them all ON through only one power supply cable

F.A.Q.

Ultraviolet rays are electromagnetic waves which are part of light. Electromagnetic waves are divided into three main wavelength bands, expressed in nanometers, nm: Ultraviolet rays (UV) 100-400 nm Visible rays (light) 400-700 nm Infrared rays (IR) 700-800,000 nm UV rays are in turn identified in three bands:

  • UV-A (315-400 nm) with tanning properties;
  • UV-B (280-315 nm) con proprietà terapeutiche e di sintesi della vitamina "D";
  • UV-C (100-280 nm) with germicidal properties.

UV-C rays (100-280 nm) have a strong germicidal effect and reach their maximum efficacy at the 265 nm wavelength. The germicidal effect of UV-C radiation covers bacteria, viruses, spores, fungi, moulds and mites; this is mainly due to the destructive effect of the UV-C rays on their DNA, which damage their reproductive system and prevent them from replicating.

Bacteria, Viruses, Spores, Fungi, Mould, and Mites are all sensitive to, and can therefore be eliminated with, UV-C light. Mircrobes cannot acquire resistance to UV-C light, unlike that which occurs using chemical disinfectants and antibiotics. UV rays are ecological. Polluting the environment is inevitable using normal disinfectants. Directly inhaling the vapours, or swallowing food products contaminated by any contact with said chemical disinfectants, can also give rise to a number of serious risks. In cases where chemical disinfectants cannot be eliminated (food, pharmaceutical, healthcare industries, etc.), using ultraviolet rays for disinfection allows a reduction in their use, with considerable economic savings and greater care for the environment, while maintaining and almost always improving the level of disinfection. UV-C light devices can be installed in environments and on machinery and be programmed to maintain the same level of disinfection day and night, guaranteeing ideal hygiene conditions, without highs and lows. On the contrary, chemical disinfectants are effective only during their actual use. Using LIGHT PROGRESS equipped luminaires, operating costs are negligible; it could be said that “LIGHT PROGRESS” UV-C systems do not require maintenance except for the normal replacement of the lamps. The cost/benefit ratio is considered excellent; the devices are both powerful and long-lasting. Hence the elimination of germs using UV-C technology is low-cost and highly effective compared to (or in combination with) other systems.

UV-C really does work when applied correctly and with the necessary precautions. The difference between a quality project and an unsuccessful application is in-depth knowledge and experience gained over time.
